NLEX Corporation has been authorized by the TRB to collect the Fractional Opening Base Toll Rates for Section 1 of the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road Project.
The NLEX-SLEX Connector Road Project is a new all-elevated toll road project with a total length of approximately 8 kilometers, divided into two (2) Sections, namely:
Section 1: C3-Road/5th Avenue in Caloocan to España with an approximate length of 5 kms.
Section 2: España to Skyway Stage 3 with an approximate length of 3 kms.
The Project was processed, reviewed and approved by the NEDA as an Unsolicited Proposal under the BOT Law with the DPWH as the Contracting Party and Implementing Agency.
Section 1 (Caloocan to España) was opened to the motoring public on March 29, 2023, without toll fee collection. Currently, around 14,000 motorists are using this new toll road daily enjoying a faster travel time of only around 5 minutes from the usual 30 minutes or more using the old routes.
A substantial portion of Section 2 from España to Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard is targeted to be completed within the 4th Quarter of this year.
After a thorough review and compliance with the publication and posting of a surety bond requirements, the TRB, in accordance with the Concession Agreement, has provisionally approved the following toll fees for collection:
Class 1: ₱86.00
Class 2: ₱215.00
Class 3: ₱302.00
This new toll road will be the first to implement a 24/7 barrier-free Electronic Toll Collection System. Motorists just need to slowdown for safety but need not stop at the toll plaza, resulting to a faster and more convenient travel.
Thus, we encourage all the expressway users to use RFID not only at the NLEX-SLEX Connector Road Project, but to all the other expressways as well.
